Is it possible to turn the green power LED on/off (as with many other single board computers), or is it hard-wired?

    Thanks

Green LED is very bright and blinding.
Looking at the board it is labeled as “LED3”.

LEDs can be sometimes controlled via /sys/class/leds

However, looking at schematics file http://espressobin.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/ESPRESSObin_V5_Schematics.pdf,
when you connect DC 12V jack, there is only 1K resistor in between. At least I do not see any switch that can be controlled.

Nice work, thanks! I’m tempted to desolder the LED in that case. I’d try replacing the 1K resistor with a larger value, but those components are too small for me…

According to the schematics file, it’s hard wired. Replacing the resistor is risky. Therefore I have desoldered the LED. 😀
