Did you successfully managed to boot Espresso from SATA using prebuilt image? How did you do this? I was trying to follow instructions from wiki, but I only got TIM-1 prompt. What block 0 means? I just dd’ed the image to /dev/sdb. Should I do something more?
As for me, I never had been able to fix the crashing issue even though I disabled the governor service. I switched to Archlinux and it’s runs pretty solid without crashes (except when playing with GPIO’s). The GPIO’s are a bit problematic though. Most of the pins are not usable.
It’s hot, but I only had experienced a freeze when I tried to play with GPIO. I’m currently compiling nodejs source for hours now. Doing a ‘thumb test’, I feel like my fingers would burn. I can only stand holding it for maximum of 4 seconds. But the system is pretty much stable. I’m using archlinux arm with latest kernel. Worth noting I put a heatsink on it.
