I still don’t know why they are not restocking the boards at Amazon:
1 GByte Board to Germany:
Shipping & Fee Details
AmazonGlobal Shipping + $6.00
Estimated Import Fees Deposit + $10.45
The $10.45 is 19% (Taxes, “Einfuhrumsatzsteuer”) of $49 + $6.
Amazon guarantees complete coverage of taxes/duties by the deposit, i.e. if it is higher Amazon will cover the extra costs.
Apparently Amazon shipping to Denmark is more expensive ($14.75), but still significantly lower than FedEx.
So why is the board no longer available via Amazon, and why not the 2GByte boards?
@HenrikJuul: Does the source tree also contain enhanced support for the Topaz switch, i.e. support for the TCAM and the other parts necessary for TSN/AVB?
Its nice to have the 88E6341 switch on the boards, its less nice to have it crippled to the 88E6141 feature set due to missing drivers …
Shipping via Amazon to Germany is just 7$US, plus 19% Tax deposit (49$ + 7$ * 1.19 = 67$)
Unfortunately, only the 1GB versions is currently available.
Any news on this? Amazon shipping conditions are quite reasonable, and IMHO the only viable option to get a board from Europe …
Currently, only the 1GB board is available.
Any timeframe for the 2GByte version?
Currently, mainline linux only supports the 88E6341 as an 88E6141, i.e. the AVB/TSN features are not usable. Any plans to either provide register documentation or source code?
Can you please make an announcement (best on both the blog and the forum) when you have distribution in the EU ready?
